The Brothers Blackwater, Mastermind, and 2 more like this

Hey ya'all. I need a break.
If you read the results, you may have noticed Engy is no longer champ. Old timers may also have noticed that Bobby Main used the 24/7 briefcase in a way that hadn't been used before. Some of the brass know I've actually been contemplating efed retirement for a couple months now. The fact is, I've just been super burnt. I've been hauling ass here for over a year and half, and Bobby and I devised a way to angle the title on to him. The match result actually did matter, but we settled on it beforehand that if the judgement went against him, I was okay with him using the 24/7 briefcase to ambush Engy post-match and scoop up the title anyway. So when I wrote that match I wrote 2 endings, one where Bobby wins clean and one where he has to use the briefcase.
So, behind the scenes disclosure aside, I am not kissing ass when I say this has been the best goddamn efed run I've ever had in my life. Some other places I've been never really gave me or Engy a shot, and some just closed before I could grasp the brass ring. The amount of consideration I got here blew my mind. It really did. I've just never had this epic a run anywhere else. It was a total blast, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. To get a tad personal, that whole concluding arc with Engy learning he's dying and Joachim having to come to grips with it actually mirrored some shit I'm dealing with in my personal life, touching on some very real fears I as a person have about my dad's health. It's probably the deepest I've ever delved into myself in any piece of writing I've ever done, so I thought it was fitting that it would be my swan song for Engy.
That being said, I think having a new Universal Champion is a good thing, as it stands a chance of reinvigorating the scene here and shaking things up. Robert has the chops to be a very strong champion and I wish him the best of luck with the title. I know things in the XWF have been rough what with the technical issues and losing some users, but I think this is a very special place with some of the most creative handlers I've ever seen. I want to stress that I'm not leaving because of this, but because I've just been going for so long and so consistantly that my tank is pretty empty. For the existing user base, and new users, stick with the XWF. E-fedding is still cool, and this place is still cool.
I do eventually plan to duck my head in from time to time, and maybe even run a PT character. However, I definitely need an extended hiatus before I do that. But yes, I hope to see most of you still here when I come back.
Take care everyone. Keep writing.
