Lately it’s been the best of times, and also the worst of times.
The best of times has been holding on to the Television championship title that I did not think I would hold on to for longer than I have, even with the small technicality that I had at the Pay Per View in November when I almost lost it for the Bombshell Title.
But I have held on to it, and some would say it would come at a cost. I think it comes at a cost too, but it only goes to strengthen me as the rules around the Television title is defending it with only 3 promos, and using 2000 words per promo.
Everyone who knows me I love to do promos and at my best of times I can get up to 7 or 8 out in any one fortnight for any match, but with the Television Title like I said defending it I must use only 3 promos.
So it comes down to having to script what I say, for fear of going past 2000 words. But that’s okay, it’s only strengthens my resolve of wanting to hold onto the Television Title for as long as possible. I know there’ll come a time sooner rather than later where I will lose it. It’s only natural.
So like I said the best have times have been about the Television Championship, and outside of the XWF, my wife and family. Any day now my family will grow by two when my twin daughters are born, to go along with my two twin boys.
So you may now ask yourselves if what I have stated as been my best of times, then what comes with the bad times?
Watching Morbid Angel, someone you admire so much, a legend in the XWF disappear before your eyes. In a match involving the both of us. For it was in Melbourne, Australia, during our 5 stages of hell match that an Earthquake struck, and allowing me because of my knowledge of earthquakes to escape the cage, only to be reminded that Morbid didn’t even know what was happening, and in his brief moment of being stuck in one place, he was hit by the infamous inverted crucifixion device that Morbid had dreamed up for the last fall in the 5 stages of hell match.
His body was never recovered and it caused authorities to announce that Morbid Angel was no longer with us.
And another situation where lately I have deemed to have a bad time, was last week when I tried to win the X-Treme Championship from Donovan Blackwater only for a mistake to cause me the win. I had pushed myself so hard to get in a position to win that match, but obviously not hard enough, so I know how hard I have to push myself even more when I face Donovan again, I know it’ll be sooner rather than later.
So here I am reveling in my good times and bad times of late, but knowing that I have to focus for my next match which is a triple threat match to defend my Television Title at the Pre Christmas Warfare/Savage show, against the loud mouthed Miz, and Kid Kool.
Monday 10th December 2018
Wellington, New Zealand
I am back at home in between the two weeks between Warfare shows as New Zealand is only a short distance from Australia, so it’s only natural while the XWF is doing its Australasian Tour to fly home between matches, not that it wouldn’t have stopped me anyway normally.
I am sleeping in my own bed with my wife, and recovering from my loss to Donovan and the attack by the unknown assailant who hit me with a chair after that loss. He also attacked Donovan, and stopped him from shooting me in the knee with a pistol.
All I can hear is….
‘M…. wake up….. “M’ wake up….”
I open my eyes.
"‘M’,” says Maria who sounds like she’s in pain
“Are you okay Maria?” I ask
“No… I’m in labor. I’ve already called the midwife.”
I sit up fast, get out of bed and fly across the room, and get my clothes on.
“How far apart are the contractions?” I asked
“Every 5 minutes. We have to get to the hospital.”
“No home birth?” I asked liked we did for the boys
“No, I mentioned this when you got home on Saturday. The midwife feels there is a little bit of complications for me to have the girls here at home. So I have to get to the hospital.”
I walk over to my desk, and pick up the phone. It takes a few seconds for someone to answer.
“I need the car brought around now. Maria’s in labor and we need to get to the hospital. Thank you.”
I turned back to Maria who is trying to keep positive.
“Have you rung your mother?”
“Yes, she’s meeting us at the hospital.”
“I’ll get the nanny to watch the boys.”
“But have her bring them to the hospital, so they can meet their sisters.”
“Okay,” I smiled pushing another button on the phone “Hey Martha, Maria’s in labor, we have to go to the hospital, can you please watch the boys? Awesome…. But also I’ll give you a ring when it’s time to bring them to the hospital so they can meet their sisters…… Sounds like a plan….. Good.”
I put the bedside phone down, and walk around to collect Maria’s overnight bag for the hospital. I then gently hold out my hand.
“Shall we go?”
Maria smiles through another contraction.
“Please let’s go,”
I guide Maria out of the bedroom, out into the emergency lift, as it’s only used at times like these, and down to the bottom floor where we head out of the house and the car is waiting for us. Not the limo, or any other special car, but Maria’s favorite car so she can feel comfortable.
We head out to the hospital.
To be continued.
CURRENT DAY
THURSDAY 13TH DECEMBER 2018
The camera fades in to the thinking room of Mastermind, and it finds him sitting in his chair. He has the Television Title over his shoulder. He grabs it, and looks at it.
“For 78 days I have held onto this title, a title, which like I thought about before thought I would never manage to keep past 50 days, and yet here it is, still in my possession, and heading into the last Warfare show of the year with it being combined with Savage of course.
“My focus has been to keep this, and keep this I have. My main focus now is go into the Christmas/New Year break still keeping this, and that means to do so I must win my triple threat match. Now this triple threat match is against a guy called Kid Kool, and the loud mouthed WWE reject the Miz.”
Mastermind smirks.
“Guys I am going on a christmas break and will be missing the 2nd January show but will be ready for the 16th January show. This is what you both want.”
Mastermind holds up the Television Title to the camera.
“Believe you me, it’s harder to lose it than it is easier to win it. You both won’t be getting your hands on it anytime soon. So I’ll be taking it to the 16th show ready for more of a battle.
“Miz you think you are AWESOME but you are not. I have your number, I know what makes you tick, and I will prove it.
“Kid Kool, apparently you like to enter yourself on cards, but not do anything other than turn up and lose, well you need to be at your very best to lose, because I’ll make sure you lose in a big way. If it’s not your end, it’ll be the Miz’s end that’s for sure.
“So you two better come prepared because I am more prepared than ever. The loss to Donovan, stung. It isn’t going to happen twice in a row, not to you two losers.
“The question is? Are you two ready to come up against me the Master of Minds or not. I know what the answer is, and I think you two do too.
So I don’t expect much from the pair of you, but go on try if you think you want to succeed.”
Mastermind starts laughing, and then he nods at the camera, and the camera fades out.
