"Greetings and salutations, XWF"
"It is I, your friendly neighborhood spaceman, Azrael Erebus and if you're seeing this recording, I am most assuredly dead."
"Now ordinarily, that wouldn't be a permanent predicament for me. Such a tragic misfortune has overtaken me, quite a few times in the past. The experiences were never pleasant nor were they always quick or painless either. Oh goodness, no. There were times that the suffering and torture was tremendous and my demise came as more of a release from my torment, than a terrible mishap that suddenly befell me. Though, I suppose the real misadventure in those scenarios, would be the fact that I found myself in those sorts of situations in the first place. But this spaceman has often done things out of impulsiveness and landed himself into trouble, more times than not, so it should come as no surprise that some of those instances led to such atrocities."
"On other occasions, I would expire in extremely vile, brutal and vicious ways. Mostly due to wars that I took part in, throughout the ages. For instance death by battle ax, not fun. Then there were the cases when the end came at the culmination of a hearing, during a trial of some sort. For various reasons, I would be found guilty and usually that meant I was sentenced to death. I've experienced an assortment of executions, each set to suit the crime. I underwent them all, with the exception of beheading. Of course there were the times when death simply took me. Quick. Out of the blue. Like a gunshot wound to the head. Or the times that I literally imploded, like a supernova. Sometimes those particular losses of life; implosions, came with a bonus though, as they marked the moments of my ascensions or upgrades."
"Still all of these deaths, had one thing in common, I always came back. Death was not a lasting, eternal embrace that would envelop me forever. It was more like a hiccup or a snag. Something that was temporary and never kept me down for long. Till now."
"That's right. This time isn't like the rest. There won't be a return. The man that stands before you presently is no more. For when I took my place upon that final stage and the curtain dropped, I will have given my last bow. With zero promises of an encore or another performance. For me, this is truly the end."
"Fret not, fellow wrestling associates."
"For even if that is the case and I am indeed gone, I did not simply surrender to my fate."
"Know that, this man from the stars, still had a few tricks up his sleeves."
"He did not accept defeat and go quietly into the night."
"Ha! No! Never! I'm far too clever for that."
"Even when my back is to the wall and it seems like I'm done for, I always find a way around to the other side and manage to work things out in my favor."
"It's just that this juncture comes with a bit more hassles than usual, what with me dying and all."
"For instance, right now, even though you're viewing this on December 21st, my anniversary with the XWF. The video has actually been recorded many days prior to that date. On my side of this recording device, it's December 4th. I've just made a hasty exit from my son's apartment, taking the liberty during my swift departure to travel back to my tower, to the precise second that I was set to arrive at Donovan's. Meaning that I'm at Donovan's place while I'm also here, standing in my laboratory. Time travel. It definitely has its advantages."
"There are several reasons behind my journey and this is not my final stop. I have a series of trips that I need to make, I simply thought that this one would give me time to record this message, for all of you. To allow you to see the beginning stage as it is being set and know exactly what's happening, right from the start. There are measures that I need to take in order to ensure a successful completion of my objective and I intend to carry out each and every one of those actions. Cause once I return to my time, well that's when it all comes crashing down."
"It will mean that I went to Maxwell Maximus' fortress of doom and he's caught me in a trap that I cannot escape. From there, I can only imagine, death awaits me and if I know Maxwell, he's been plotting this sort of thing for some time now. Which means, I'm basically screwed, there's no way out, other than the way that sends me off into that climactic sunset, that leads to the great beyond."
"Everlasting perpetual slumber."
"The infinite abyss."
"Actual, permanent death."
"Here's the thing, I don't want to go down that road. Not without having a way to divert my course, so to speak. Ha ha... a roundabout. That's the best thing about time travel, even when it looks like you've reached the end, it's really only the beginning. Normally, time is set on a linear direct path, from one fixed position, that then carries onward to the next. There's only one way to go. Forward and that's it. However, from my point of view, it's more like a mangled up ball of twine, with endless possibilities and ways to move about. To shift around and find the exact place that you need to be, should you need to set in motion a strategic play that will shape the things to come. It's a lot to take in but the gist of it all is that I'm both dead and not dead. In a sense."
"Since I need Maxwell to believe that I'm gone. I have to put into place certain precautions, that will impede him from finding out that I'm still very much alive. Tricky but not impossible. Not for me anyway but that's because I'm absolutely brilliant and utterly amazing, in every way imaginable. And some ways that you can't possibly fathom as well. To exist in plain sight and fool Max into really being under the proper impression that I'm not around anymore, I'll have to create a new version of myself. Really more of a back up."
"At this present time, I can't say who I'll be for the purpose of maintaining security but I will say this XWF... you may have already met the brand new me and didn't even know it. He... or she, could be wrestling alongside you, at this very moment and there's no way you'd be able to tell. Simultaneously, this man... or woman, won't recognize any of you either. A contingency will be in place, so that this individual won't even recognize faces that I've known for quite some time now. This being will be clueless to everyone and everything that I've come to know very well but please, place confidence in the reality that beneath the well made disguise and failsafe adjustment, lies the spaceman. In wait."
"The only problem will be getting her... or him, to remember. That's where the true conundrum rests. I can't take the risk and tell anyone, for fear that Maxwell will find out and then, this will have all been in vain because if he can kill me now, in my current state, the oblivious version doesn't stand a chance. So I'll have to devise a set of clues and spread them around, for a select few to uncover. Singularly these pieces of the puzzle will mean nothing but combined, they will unlock the secret to bringing me back."
"This is going to take a whole lot of trust and faith on my part."
"Thankfully, I know in my heart, I can count on the ones that I've chosen to entrust."
"The beauty of this all is that they won't even know they're a part of my plan, until they're meant to find out."
"Believe me, when they do realize what they're meant to come across, it will be unmistakable."
"Till then, things will be a tad touch and go, once again for the basis of maintaining this mystery man or woman's safety."
"I suppose that's really all that's left to say about what's happening. It's cryptic and rather confusing, I'm sure you'll all think that I have gone quite mad when you hear what I've got to say but you should already know by now, I have never been a completely sane man. None of what I revealed has anything to do with the utter lunacy that resonates and thrives inside me though. Rest assured. The words that I speak, are unequivocally the truth. If there is any doubt, know that the proof will be undeniably there, in plain sight. For all to witness. A change in a fixed placement of time, a set date or event, will be altered accordingly. When this happens, you will understand."
"Well, XWF. I want you to know it's been a real pleasure, wrestling with you all."
"Even though I must bid you farewell, this goodbye is not finite."
"To both friends and enemies alike, I bid you adieu."
"Till we meet again."
